Why they wear those draggy drawers?

I know as I go about my day~I see umm "youngsters" with baggy pants. I am talking BAGGY. Drawers hanging-booty showing-no belt-looping-undies creeping baggy. I think of all those fat people who can't find any pants to buy because the teenagers are buying them all up! Where's a fatty to go? I decided to interview two of these "thugs" to get the low down or is it down low?
Me: Why do you two upstanding citizens wear these baggy pants?
A: 'Cause I think it improper for my knees to show before Labor Day.
Z: My knees get cold.
Me: Humm. Aren't you afraid they will fall off?
A: My knees? No!
Me: Your pants!
A: laughing* You just pull 'em back up!
Z: Yeah, it's easy!
Me: Why are you letting your underwear show?
Z: It is cool..part of the outfit.
A: It is a statement.
Me: What? "I wear boxers?"
A: Pretty much. They match my tank.
Me: So you two don't really like the dress code..then
Z:It's whack.
A: They are taking away my originality!
Me: Your originality to look like the other kids?
A & Z: YEAH!!

Need I say more?

Driving, Driving, Driving.....Diana's New Car

I feel like a taxi driver...I drive to all 3 schools almost 56 miles one way --twice a day..I remember back when I was 16 and could not wait to drive. Well, I changed my mind! Now, I am not complaining about the price of gas because I believe in capitalism, and everyone knows that the price of gas is actually related to how the US dollar is doing..enough of the Econ lesson! The price of gas is what it is..so start drilling and quit complaining!Oh this next picture is of one of the kids that was not "punctual"....I think waiting in that darn "pick-up" and "drop off" line is really annoying..there is always someone that is clueless on how to navigate it...or tries to cut the line...just so everyone knows..I CAN'T STAND line jumpers...I WILL shoot you an evil glance if you cut my line, baby..

School "Daze"

School began in earnest. Vanessa and Adrien have to wear "dress code." This brilliant (I'm being sarcastic, here) move was mandated from the school board last year to take effect this year. Basically the kids wear certain colored shirts/pants, belts, and polo shirts. Let's just say after this weeks election we will have new faces on the school board panel..the power of the vote! Anywho...I will have pictures of my Stepford children with big smiles on their compliant faces :)up soon. Naturally, the kids are determined to thwart this at every turn....Oh! Here are my models...We have the lovely Adrien with his white spike belt that says "I'll take the detention, pal" and his Converse butt-kickers, and the creme de la creme "skinny jeans"....Vanessa is wearing her "flip-flops" she saved from the John Kerry election debacle. She also defiantly wears her "logos" on her polos...Take that administration! Brett really has no clue about what he is wearing as long as it matches...when told to go to bed he has school again in the morning he replied--or whined, "You mean I have TO GO BACK? Oh! Man! That does not make sense."

Earliest known photo of Adam--or a young Jack Sparrow?

The "eyes" have it--or so they say! This pint-sized urchin is always ready for fun!

Theo-Grande

I have not said much about my Theo in my blog. He is an awesome husband. I was at the school system changing around Brett's Pre-K stuff, and Fay started to dump rain, and I was in the building with no umbrella. I get ready for a mad dash to the car. The door opens up--there is his beautiful face holding an umbrella for me! He does stuff like this all of the time! I could go on and on....SIGH! I LOVE MY THEO.

"You Spin Me 'Round, 'Round, Baby, 'Round, 'Round like a Record, Baby"

Some of you may remember that song, and to those that don't--you are either too young or too old! Anywho..This hurricane/tropical storm will not let go of Florida! It is sitting just off the coast near us...spinning. Forecasters predict she will come thru for the 4th time....we are swimming out here! Worst of all my hair will not stop frizzing!
Anyway, Bretty started Pre-K yesterday. As I handed him over to his teacher, he said "Mom, You will be just fine OK?" Hummm I did not realize that I was out of sorts.--LOL! When we picked him up he told us that "some girl keeps calling me Drake, and I 'splaind to her I am Bretty, but she keeps calling me Drake." Then he got so sleepy he feel asleep in the car, and he woke up very groggy/crying saying "I don't want to go back." I asked him if he needed a moment alone, and he said "Yes, I must think about this." He came out 15 minutes later deciding to go back! Well, He was going back no matter what he decided, but I humored him.

Heavy sigh....Hurricane Fay is a DUD!

I know many of you were expecting a rip rousing fun display of Theobald insanity....Hurricane Fay is a dud. Hold onto your tickets--I am sure another Hurricane will grace us here before the season ends Nov 3oth. The kids stayed home today as schools were closed. Basically we have had a very long rainstorm. I have been at work here all day. There is this goofy email going around about Bill Gates giving away his fortune. I have received like 5. I detest chain emails. I was a bad girl and responded with my famous "reply all" button: "Hello, This is a bogus email started way back in 1999. Nothing in life is free except for our Savior's love...simply WORK for your money.".. something like that. I just don't get how people can just believe something so ....I will be kind here.....uhhhh...I'm trying people.....ummm so.... gullible! "gullible" is a kind word! Anyway, I received a couple of emails back from friends saying "Thanks for sending that out.."

Hurricane Fay-She is heading for the Theobald's

YEEEEE HAW! We Theobald's love hurricanes! As you can see the projected path is thru our backyard 8AM Wednesday morning. Bring it, girlfriend. This ain't no New Orleans..we are prepared. Our only issue will be keeping Todd's insulin ice cold for a long period of time. My students in the Keys have already evacuated. I will blog and try to photograph (using my old camera--sorry, K!) as it comes thru..Barb, stop reading at this point--cover your eyes! Adrien , Vanessa and I are planning on going out in it...as we have the past 4 we lived through! We may even "mattress surf."Todd says we are crazy, and refuses to participate (old fart). Adrien wants to try and capture some "Hurricane Air" and sell it on Ebay....I think his "fart-in-a-jar" is a much better idea! Todd is hoping for some additional room renovations....humm new master bath, kitchen?? It's just another day in sunny Florida!

Signing up kids for school....

Call me "crazy"..many folks do, but I have just spent ummmm 6 hours signing up 4 kids for school. Granted, I did go to 3 different schools, but WHEW! I took my friend's granddaughter with us at 10am to Narcoosee K-8 (Indian for Wait-ah-in-long-line-ah). We walked around and around trying to find out where Brett goes to Pre-K, and Samantha to 4th grade..Finally we found out the kids classrooms! Then we were loaded with paperwork no one is gonna read (unless this is their first child). Left there at 11 ish headed to (Dis)Harmony High because Vanessa did not like her schedule and needed to pick out a locker. We get there and LO!The locker chick is at lunch till "sometime after noon." There is a sign that reads, "No changes on schedules 'till Monday" Think that stops Ness? HA! She bats those eyes, smiles..next thing ya know we are in the counselors office--he is happily switching around her schedule..finally locker chick shows up, and Vanessa gets ASKED "What locker do you want?"...When I went to school--I was never asked--just assigned a locker! We leave the high school around 1pm...I drop off everyone (including Todd who bailed on me--I will deal with him later!!!, and get Adrien (HE WAS SMART AND STAYED HOME)..Head to my old stomping grounds, Neptune! Got there at 2, negotiated a parking spot, and visited my old colleagues while Adrien went to his classes. I miss teaching there...I went to my old room, and I nearly cried!! Adrien led me outside and said,"Mom, you either let it go or go back...he is just like Todd!) Adrien also got to switch classes around today, because, well, I used to work there..:)I am now home, and Vanessa announces, "Moooooooooooommmm we gotta go shopping for school supplies!" Somebody, anybody......help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Politics-My favorite thing to talk about....

Yes, I have decided to endorse a candidate, but after all it is just my opinion. My dad used to say that "An opinion is like an a$$ everyone has got one." I have done research as I usually do, listened to radio talk shows and the regular news for balance, and I also have searched my spirit. I am a conservative that supports pro-life, a marriage amendment, the 2nd amendment, the death penalty, drilling for oil, getting out of the UN, and most importantly securing ALL of our borders. This may not sit well with a lot of you. I just ask that you too THINK about these issues and not rely on the garbage the media wants you to believe. You also need to take a look at the man behind the curtain...the candidate..Who is he really? Who are his friends? What does his voting record say about him? Is he proud to be an American? Does he have experience in war/troubled times? Does he uphold the Constitution?

SPOTLIGHT ON: Awesome Adrien

Adrien. Handsome as he is intelligent. He has such an awesome sense of humor! I love how he is so willing to try new things! He makes friends so easily! They are usually all of the female persuasion. I can't wait to see him as a full-fledged missionary! Adrien is also a kind old soul. He is always concerned with other people. Adrien reminds me a lot of my brother, Dustin. Adrien loves having Brett around, and showing him how to "Man-up" when he cries over little issues. Currently, Adrien is playing football. He is fast and tough as the above pictures attest! The purple suit is Adrien's "job hunting" outfit.....

Keepin' It Real, Yo!

You know who I really dig? My sister-in-law, Amy. She is one hip chick. She lets me call her "Aimster" even though she secretly hates it. She just never judges me, and she can keep a secret (unless Brevvy drags it out of her!) I just like her spunk. She keeps it real..she does not freak out if I say "crap!" You know there are some people that are ready to break out their crosses and start praying if they hear that word, but Amy is intelligent enough to know that it is a legit word. Speaking of smarts--My sis is politically smart. I love talking to her about politics! We don't talk as much as we should, but we are busy gals..We need to be neighbors, but she refuses to move here (BRAT!), and I just can't imagine I would fit in in Utah...the green jello, the snow, the happy people--ICK! Anyway, Amy has a great sense of humor--she laughs at all my jokes! Sigh! I do wish we could live closer..maybe we could meet in the middle--say Arkansas? Nahhhh..Clinton ruined that state already..Well, I can't keep talking 'bout Amy without mentioning her Mac Daddy, Brevin. Love the dude! I love when Todd and him are together they are so freaking (OOOPS another bad word!)funny! Once Brev and Todd took Vanessa shopping for purses at Target, and they acted like a gay couple. We still totally laugh at that. Hmmm maybe we will move to Utah....

SPOTLIGHT : Vanessa-Diva Extraordinaire

Ahh! What more can one say about this gorgeous creature? Her internal beauty is just as stunning as the photos you see! OK, enough bragging..uh hum..Vanessa that will be $20...for promotional costs, ad space on my blog, etc..Kidding! Vanessa is a real gem in our family crown! She has really been a help to us especially so when Brett came into our home! She does not mind him tagging around behind her for trips to visit her --let me get this right--BFF or is it Beef? Taylor. She helps get Brett ready in coordinating outfits (If he does not match by the way Todd has dressed him). She is also a great fashion advisor on Sunday for church outfits. She will let you know if you are "out of style" or something does not match properly! :)Vanessa has a lot of pals that she --hold it--I will get this right---"text-es" ? texts? you know the thing with the thumbs that is $20 a month....I think her record is around 5000 a month. She is SUCH a whiz at electronic gadgets. Todd and I have had her fix tv's, cell phones, & laptops. The second photo you see is her with her buddy, Lane "L-Bo". L-BO is practically a relative. The pretty lady in the background is Nessa's seminary teacher, Sherri. Vanessa learned TONS in seminary class and received the "Old Testament" scripture mastery award. Our family loves our gal--especially her laugh! She is also a huge JoBro fan (Jonas Brothers), and our family has embraced their music--even Todd! Adrien is a mite resistant. I just love our gal, Nessie!

"Brett-isms"

We say some weirdo things around the Theobald house. It may seem like we are speaking another language at times....(I will give you the phonetic version so you can practice these at home) For instance, Brett likes pepperoni in his quesadilla....he will ask for some "Roni's in my dilla" (Row'knees in my dee-ah.) Brett also likes various foods--"Humpkin Doonuts" is obviously Dunkin Donuts. "Pup cakes" are "cup cakes". "Curly soup" is Top Ramen Noodles. Sometimes Daddy gets "Cone Falls" (Phone calls). Mommy goes to "Crazy Town" (Salvation Army). Today Brett tried to convince us that he should be able to go with the teenagers to see "Dark Knight." I said "No, It is too scary"..Bretty reasoned, "I'm not afraid of nuffting (anything). I have a night light!"

"My Mad Face"

Well, as most of you know, we adopted Brett ummm about a year ago. At first he was quite shy. As the days exposed to our family chipped away at his shyness...his personality came thru. This is Brett's mad face (thanks for pic, Ness!)He will tell you exactly which face he is planning to display prior to showcasing it. When he gets mad he will go around to all of us and say in a nice, calm voice, "I am angry, and this is my mad face." I think he informs us of his emotions to be charitable to us. So we know exactly where we stand with him... Brett is a smart little guy! We love you,Brettykins!

Ness's Dilemma--Which shirt 2 wear 2 the stake dance?

After much resistance--Why blog?

Heavy Sigh! Why the heck have I decided to succumb to posting the happenings of my household? I figure this--that this will lessen the amount of people from calling our home and asking mind numbing questions such as,"What's Up?" and the ever popular "What are you guys doing tonight?" Now, I will simply answer the phone with this simple phrase, "Check the blog"and hang up!....Wait, Wait! Before you comment (that is disabled by the way--*evil laugh* HA, HA!).....Let's hash this out. Picture this...phone rings. everyone in the house is yelling, "You get it!" ...and "I'm busy--you get it"... and "It's not for me" etc..phone continues to ring and ring--no one answers. Machine comes on with a simple message, "Check the blog" period. Brilliant! I think this would be a refreshing adventure for any telemarketers wanting a break from harassing people. They can log on the blog (I'm getting the lingo down already!) and view a picture of our family, and decide the answer to their burning question--"Do these people look like they need a water softener?" :)

I hope that our blog will be a source for wayward souls, namely liberals. Peace
